While there is nothing wrong or dangerous about using alpine quickdraws on sport climbing routes, Its typically recommended that you stick to regular quickdraws as these are stiffer and easier to clip.
When to Use Alpine Quickdraws in Sport Climbing?
Alpine quickdraws can sometimes be a better option than regular quickdraws in certain situations for example if the route starts to stray or wander from the bolt you sometimes need the flexibility of the alpine quickdraw rather than the rigid sport quickdraw.
Things To Watch Out For
If you are taking alot of large falls on your alpine quickdraws its important that you inspect the carabiners for any damage. The bolts can sometimes leave sharp notches or edges on the carabiner which can damage your rope.
You dont get this problem with sports quickdraws as they always have the same carabiner clipping to the bolt. While with alpine draws you may use either side to clip to a bolt / piece of gear.
